The equipment required by Scan’Bac, Scan’X and Scan’Ordo is identical for all three software packages.

The necessary equipment is as follows :
  • A PC : operating system Windows XP, 2000 or Vista. With a 2GHz processor, and 1 Gb of RAM.
  • Printers : 3SI software requires a laser printer, any make or model.
  • Scanners : 3si uses a set of scanner drivers which includes more than 150 drivers.
3SI prefers to propose scanners based on user needs, as a number of parameters can determine the appropriate choice.

3SI has validated a variety of scanners having the necessary characteristics and functionality for 3SI software.

The speeds shown are those for actual use. They include scanning (at the required resolution), the time for page processing, and data export. They are shown in pages per minute (ppm).

Our ratings in terms of pages per day are generally inferior to those given by the manufacturers. Ours provide for a ‘normal’ lifespan of the scanner, as well as optimal use in the laboratory.

There is a complete range of larger scanners available, which our software can also support, for greater document volumes.
3SI can, on request and free of charge, provide advice on any scanner supplied for test. If this advice is favourable, scanner connection will be done without charge. Time required for scanner evaluation is around 10 days.
